Prickly Pear is our private island paradise — a short boat ride from the resort yet a world away from everything. Crystal-clear, ankle-deep water stretches along a sandbar that reaches into the sea, surrounded by some of the most beautiful reefs in the Caribbean.
Every day, the Prickly Pear Express departs continually from our beach, carrying guests to an experience of pure Caribbean indulgence. Home to the legendary XIV Beach Club, the island offers day-to-night dining, handcrafted cocktails, and sun-drenched sands reserved exclusively for Hodges Bay guests.

Day-to-Night Dining & Cocktails
XIV Beach Club sits at the heart of Prickly Pear Island — an open-air escape where the rhythm of the sea sets the pace of the day. Lounge in the sand with a fresh ceviche and a rum cocktail, or settle in for a long, golden-hour lunch as the Caribbean stretches endlessly around you.
Some of the best snorkeling in the Caribbean lies just off the sandbar — vibrant reefs teeming with tropical fish, rays, and sea turtles.
At low tide a sandbar stretches far into the sea, with crystal-clear water barely up to your ankles — a natural wonder unique to Prickly Pear.
Ceviche, fresh-caught grills, tropical cocktails and easy island classics served right on the sand at XIV Beach Club.

Our dedicated boat departs continually from the resort beach throughout the day — simply stroll down and hop on.
The island is reserved exclusively for Hodges Bay guests — so you’ll always find the perfect lounger waiting.

Reservation required for external guests to visit Prickly Pear, subject to availability and confirmation.
A minimum spend of USD $400.00 is required to reserve your experience and includes round-trip boat transportation, lunch, drinks, and the use of a daybed or table, based on availability. This minimum spend applies to 1–6 persons. Each additional person will be charged USD $75.00. Please note that premium drinks are not included in this package.
All items consumed will be applied toward the minimum spend. Once the minimum of USD $400.00 (or the applicable minimum spend) is reached, any additional charges will be payable by the guest.
The first boat to the island departs from the resort at 11:00 a.m. The island is open until sunset every day, with the last return boat departing after sunset. Additional shuttle boats operate throughout the day, allowing guests to travel to and from the island at any time within these hours.
